Job Title: Educational Technician III – Environmental Safety

 

Location: Service Center, 4041 North 72nd Street, Omaha, NE 68134-4407

                  

Reports to: Environmental/Safety Specialist 

 

Work Schedule: 36D - 12 months

 

Hours to Work: 8 Hours

 

 

Position Purpose: General responsibilities include maintaining all aspects of the Environmental/Safety recordkeeping.

 

Essential Performance Responsibilities

  1. Assist with duties associated with the maintenance and reconciliation of financial ledgers. Required to code, record, copy, file and submit invoices for payment. Rectify claims report with expenditures database.
  2. Assist in maintaining the Safety Data Sheets for the District.
  3. Maintain database of Operations/Maintenance personnel in asbestos awareness training.
  4. Generate correspondence, query, or collect data for reports, create spreadsheets, update databases.
  5. Post labor and expenses to projects in TMA work order system. Finish and closeout work orders.
  6. Assist with District trash and recycling issues.
  7. Input of data entry for record keeping of district trash and recycle
  8. Input of data entry for record keeping and payment of Districts utilities
  9. Maintain AHERA Management Plans up-to-date status.
  10. Closeout files at projects completion. Store files consistent with exiting system.
  11. Input data into various databases as needed.
  12. Receive incoming calls for Environmental/Safety Personnel. Give messages to Environmental/Safety Personnel.
  13. Provide general assistance to division staff, visitors and employees as needed.
  14. Other duties as assigned

Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

 

Equipment:  This position requires the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine.  Must always comply with OPS’s guidelines for equipment use.

 

Travel:  Limited travel within the District may be required.

This position is treated as a full-time non-exempt classified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies, as those laws and policies may change from time to time.
