Reports To: Building Principal 

 

Work Schedule/FLSA Status: per negotiated agreement / Exempt

 

Salary Schedule: 2024/25 Step 1 with a Bachelor's Degree: $50,500, Step 1 with a Master's Degree: $55,550

Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience.  Placement on the salary schedule will follow the applicable negotiated agreement.

 

2025/26 Step 1 with a Bachelor's Degree: $51,200, Step 1 with a Master's Degree: $57,820

Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience.  Placement on the salary schedule will follow the applicable negotiated agreement.

 

 

Position Purpose:  Provide JROTC students with appropriate learning experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth; enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.  Plans for, teaches, and facilitates learning for all students. Creates a positive learning environment. Maintains academic progress, records, and discipline. Works collaboratively with students, parents and staff to provide and implement classroom education to meet the needs of the students. Educates students to prepare them for the 21st Century; college or career ready.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the board of education through the Superintendent of Schools or the Trustees.

          

Equipment:  This position may require the ability to use basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine.  Must always comply with OPS’s guidelines for equipment use.

 

Travel:  Limited travel between schools and central offices will be required. Occasional travel outside of Omaha or Nebraska may be required.

Terms of Employment

This position is treated as a full-time exempt certified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment or teaching in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies, as those laws and policies may change from time to time, and the Teacher Contract. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative, then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
