Work Schedule/FLSA Status: per negotiated agreement / Exempt

 

Salary Schedule: 

2024/25 

Step 1 with a Bachelor's Degree: $50,500 + 10% variance ($5,050)= $55,550
Step 1 with a Master's Degree: $57,050 + 10% variance ($5,705)= $62,755
Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience.  Placement on the salary schedule will follow the applicable negotiated agreement.

 

2025/26 

Step 1 with a Bachelor's Degree: $51,200 + 10% variance ($5,120)= $56,320

Step 1 with a Master's Degree: $57,820 + 10% variance ($5,782)= $63,602

Salary credit may be awarded for applicable experience.  Placement on the salary schedule will follow the applicable negotiated agreement.

 

Position Purpose: 

Providing services and support for families with children from birth to age 3 who have disabilities.  Early Childhood Special Education Homebased teachers work with other disciplines to evaluate and address needs in the areas of cognition, language, motor, adaptive and social development through a coaching model.  The settings for services include the home, childcare settings and other natural environments.

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Central Office Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

          

Equipment:  This position may require the ability to use assistive technology in addition to basic office equipment such as computers, copiers, scanners, and fax machine.  Must always comply with OPS’s guidelines for equipment use.

 

Travel:  Travel is required to homes & child care settings to provide IFSP services.

This position is treated as a full-time exempt certified position. The terms of your employment will be governed by applicable state laws regulating employment or teaching in a Nebraska public school and Board of Education policies, as those laws and policies may change from time to time, and the Teacher Contract. If your position is represented by a collective bargaining representative, then your employment will also be governed by a negotiated agreement between OPS and that collective bargaining representative.
