Please read the questions below before contacting the District about your application. Questions are grouped into categories to help you find information quickly.

Applicant- Before Applying
Q:Q. I am not currently working for the school district. How do I apply for open positions?A:External applicants are considered anyone not currently working with OPS. The applicant will register to access job postings which will be posted externally on the OPS website. The external applicant will be able to apply for jobs and update their applicant profile, resume and electronic copies of documentation all within the OPS system.Back to TopQ:Q. How frequently are jobs posted?A:A. Jobs are posted as they become available.Back to TopQ:Q. I do not have a computer or internet connection at home. Can I submit a paper application?A:A. No. All employment applications must be submitted via the online application system. You may also access the online application process via the internet at a local public library or the NE Department of Employment & Workforce.Back to TopQ:Q. How do I obtain an email address?A:A. An email address is required of all applicants. If you do not have an email address, you must create one prior to applying. There are several free email providers such as Yahoo, MSN Hotmail and Gmail.

**Side note: It is important that you have access to the email attached to your HIRE account as communication may be sent via email during the application process. If you wish to update your email address in your applicant profile you may do so under account settings once signed in. If you have any difficulty updating your email you may contact Talent Ed directly for assistance at 866-389-1245 option 2. **
Back to TopQ:Q. How do I find out what jobs are currently available?A:A. Once signed in to your applicant profile you will select the job listings tab and may either select a category or enter basic job search information into the search box. Applicable job postings will be displayed, and you can select posting titles to review.Back to TopQ:Q. What if I have forgotten my User ID and/or password?A:A. Click on the "Login Help" link. If you provided an email address on your profile as requested, your information will be emailed directly to you.

Q:Q. Must I fill out all sections of the online application?A:A. Yes. You must fill out all pertinent/required sections of the online application, even if you submit a resume.Back to TopQ:Q. Can I save my incomplete application and return at a later time to complete it?A:A. Yes, you may logout of your application at anytime and return later. When you are ready to complete your application, enter your username and password and once signed in you will be able to continue your application as long as the job posting is still open.Back to TopQ:Q. How do I apply for a job?A:A. Once you find a job you would like to apply for simply click on the title of the job. You will then be able to view the description of the job and select "Apply for this position". At this point you will either need to log-in to an existing account or create a new account. To create a new account, you must click on the "Create A New Account and Apply for This Position" button. You will then need to answer the on-screen questions to create an account. You must complete all required fields and click the "Save and Submit" button at the end of the application. Once your application is successfully submitted, you will receive a confirmation number. You should also receive a confirmation email to the email address attached to your account. You can use this confirmation number when referencing a specific application.Back to TopQ:Q. What if I make a mistake on my application?A:A. While you may update your HIRE profile at any time, once an application is submitted the system permanently locks the application barring any revisions.

Back to TopQ:Q. What happens if I withdraw my application?A:A. If you withdraw your application the District will no longer consider you for the position from which you are withdrawing. If you withdrew by mistake, please contact HR for assistance at (531)299-0240.Back to TopQ:Q. My application status says "Incomplete". What should I do?A:A. If your application status reads "Incomplete", you will need to contact HR to find out why it is marked Incomplete. HR will tell you if additional application materials are needed. HR can be reached at (531)299-0240.Back to TopQ:Q. How long does my application remain active?A:A. Your application remains active for one year from the date of your application.Back to TopQ:Q. What do you consider a "complete" application for an instructional position?
A:A. A complete application includes electronically attached transcripts, reference letters- including email addresses of references, college attended, and a credential’s file.Back to Top

Q:Q. What type of files do you accept for Resume, Cover Letter, Letters of Reference, ect.?
A:A. All files attached to your application must be in .txt, .rtf, .pdf, .docx, or .doc format. If you need to upload an image or scan, you will need to convert it to .pdf or place it into a Word doc file before upload.Back to TopQ:Q. Can I upload more than one (1) attachment?A:A. You are currently limited to a maximum of six (6) document uploads. These will carry over to other applications if you apply for more than one position.Back to TopQ:Q. How should I supply my references?A:A. Three complete references are required. At minimum, you will need to enter in the following information including: name, full address, phone number, and email address for each reference provided. You may update your references by visiting the Reference tab located in your HIRE account.

**Side notes: It is VERY important that you provide correct email addresses as your references will receive an email to complete the reference check survey (even if a reference letter is provided).

If you need to make a correction to an email address for one of your references provided you can do so on the references tab once you are logged into your applicant profile.**
Back to TopQ:Q. How can I upload a hard copy of a reference letter to my application as an attachment?A:A. If you have a hard copy of a reference letter that you would like to attach to your application, the document will need to be scanned and converted into a PDF document before uploading to your applicant profile.Back to TopQ:Q. Can I upload a separate group of attachments for each job posting to which I apply?A:A. At this time, there is not a way to upload different attachments for different job postings. If you overwrite your current attachments with new ones, the old versions will no longer be viewable by the district.Back to TopQ:Q. Can I upload different cover letters for each job posting to which I apply?A:A. Currently, there is not a way to upload different cover letters for each job that you apply for. It is recommended to use a generic cover letter when adding one to your attachments page. This may be unnecessary in some cases where districts have a specific page on their application for you to type your cover letter.Back to Top

Q:Q. How do I check the status of my application?A:A. First, you will need to log into your account and click on the Application Status tab. If you have already applied for a job it will be listed under the Current Applications section. If you want to view additional details about the job you applied for you may click on the details of the job. If you have applied for jobs in the past that have been filled, it will be listed in the Previous Applications section.Back to TopQ:Q. Will I be contacted for a job interview?A:A. All applications are first reviewed and screened for a fit to current openings. Those applicants meeting the specific criteria for job openings are contacted to schedule an interview.Back to TopQ:Q. Will I need to monitor my Career page?A:A. Yes. New job openings are posted as they become available.Back to TopQ:Q. What is the expected turnaround time and method of contact?A:A. Once your application is submitted, you will receive an email confirmation from the system that you have successfully submitted your application. You may receive an email or phone call from Human Resources, as a means of communication if your application is being considered.Back to TopQ:Q. Why didn’t I receive a link to the Gallup Insight Survey after completing my application?A:A. First, you will want to check your account settings to ensure the correct email address was provided. If the email address is correct, refer to "My Career Tools". If a Gallup Insite Survey is required, a link will be provided under "My Career Tools".Back to TopQ:Q. I have already taken a Gallup Insite Survey while applying to another school district. Do I need to complete it again?A:A. Provided both school districts use compatible systems and you completed the Insight Survey within the last 12 months, you will have the option of copying your previous results or retaking the survey for the new school district. Using the link provided for the survey, when following the Gallup instructions, it will walk you through the steps to share your score with another district.Back to TopQ:Q. Is this a secure website and is my data secure?A:A. Yes. All data transfers use a 128-bit or 256-bit encryption depending on your computer’s capabilities. This is the same type of encryption used for most online banking transactions.Back to TopQ:Q. How do I apply as an Internal Applicant?A:A. In order to apply as an Internal Applicant, your account type must be set to Internal. After logging into your profile, you can view the account type under account settings on the right center side of the page. If the account type shows as External, you can select "I am a current employee" which will change your account type to Internal.Back to TopQ:Q. How do I view internal job postings?A:A. In order to view internal job postings, you must be logged in with an internal account. The internal postings will appear under the job listings with all of the external postings.Back to TopQ:Q. How do I transfer my HIRE account from one district to another?
A:A. To transfer your account, you will need to sign out of the site (if applicable) and begin applying for the position you would like. This will prompt you to create a new account, sign in, or transfer a currently existing account. You will then enter the email and password associated with your other HIRE account. You can then select it to transfer the information over. Please be aware the only some of your profile information will be moved over. You will still need to fill out certain sections on new applications.Back to TopQ:Q. If I transfer my account, do I lose all the information with the initial district?
A:A. No information will be lost if you transfer your account. Your account with the previous district will remain active.Back to TopQ:Q. Can I combine multiple HIRE accounts with different districts?A:A. At this time, multiple accounts are unable to be combined.Back to TopQ:Q. How can I find out about new job postings?A:A. You can sign up for job alerts on the main log-in page. Once this is done, you will receive weekly email notices of the jobs that have been posted by the district.Back to TopQ:Q. How can I change the email address and password linked to my HIRE account?A:A. You can change your account information by logging in and selecting "Account Settings" at the top of the web page.

Back to TopQ:Q. I am having trouble accessing the system!A:A. First, try emptying your computer’s "cached web content/browsing history". You may also need to disable your pop-up blocker or evaluate your firewall if you are having issues accessing the online application system.Back to TopQ:Q. What if I still need assistance?A:A.
